Richard A. Oakes, Chairman of the Board
When Richard Oakes became owner of Business Furniture in 1987, he recognized its growth potential for the future. At the time Dick decided to purchase the company, he was employed at Steelcase Inc., the industry's manufacturing leader in office furniture, where he held several management positions.  

As Chairman of the Board of Business Furniture, Dick remains extremely involved in our company and makes contributions to the organization and its processes.  Dick's current focus is on marketing and his community involvement with several key boards.

As an owner, Dick has set an example for excellent customer service by personally calling on many of Business Furniture's customers.  He and co-owner Debra Ware have put in to place a management group consisting of diverse, aggressive individuals who share their business philosophy of a customer- and employee-driven company in a team based environment.

"Our reason for being here is to make a difference to our customers," says Richard Oakes.  "It really doesn't matter what I think; it's what the customer thinks."

David G. Bratton, Chief Executive Officer
David Bratton is an Indiana native and a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Accounting and  MBA from Ball State University.  After graduation, he spent several years with General Motors Corporation in Michigan before returning home to Indiana to join the Business Furntiure Team.

David's focus at Business Furniture is assembling the best team and developing the best processes in support of providing unparalleled customer service to our many clients. 

Through structured customer feedback methods, including web-based surveys and face-to-face interaction, Business Furniture can remain in touch with our customer's needs.  David's leadership helps to provide the flexibility our processes require to complete a successful workplace solution.
Robert C. Koehne, President of New Business Development
Bob Koehne has called Indiana home for over 25 years.  He is a graduate of Indiana State Unversity with a degree in Business Management and Marketing.  Bob worked for both Xerox and Steelcase Inc. before joining the Business Furniture Team.

Bob's focus at Business Furniture is primarily the responsibility for generating the business that propels our growth.  Working in the contract office furniture industry for over 18 years, Bob's knowledge of product, space and workplace technology is what
sets us apart as a leader in our marketplace.

Bob's knowledge of the furniture manufacturing industry allows him to deliver innovative solutions and superior customer satisfaction while leading our team of Workplace Consultants and overseeing the operations of our retail OUTLET store.
